Experts and practitioners convene in London

We convened a symposium in London 9-10 September to advance conversations on the politics of adaptation measurement with researchers and practitioners. In the event we addressed the question of how politics shape adaptation action and how can we work productively with politics for more transformative outcomes.

We asked invitees to think disruptively and ask themselves what are the key issues facing us on climate risks and what role can measurement play in more transformative outcomes.

Panels, presentations and discussions across the two days focused on global measurement processes, local measurement practices and national systems. We heard from early career researchers, the Adaptation Research Alliance on the perspectives of civil society, and from organisations working with national governemnts. We also heard from those not working on measurement to ask ourselves what lessons we could transfer.
